Jenna's passion for teaching and working with children keeps her reaching for new ways to promote learning.

Jenna has an undergraduate degree in elementary education, a Master of Arts in Education as a Reading Specialist, and a Master of Library and Information Services. The thing that Jenna loves most about the library is creating community connections, whether at storytime or serving library customers.

Transforming library services: early childhood through teens

Are you looking for ways to build and develop services for and with teens? Are you looking for ways to support valuable brain building work for young children?

SDSL offers a two-day training Transforming Library Services: Early Childhood Through Teens.

Transforming Teen Services focuses on ages 8-18. Learn how to build and develop services for and with teens that will help guarantee that the adolescents you support have what they need for future success.

• Teen growth & development
• Connected learning
• Computational thinking
• Transforming Teen Services is worth 6 CEU contact hours.

Strategies to Support Early Literacy Learning focuses on supporting children from birth to five. Leave with posters, checklists, visuals, and other resources to support valuable brain building work with children.

• Building literacy-rich spaces
• Supporting language and social & emotional development
• Strategies to help families support Early Literacy for their children
• Strategies to Support Early Literacy Learning is worth 4 CEU contact hours.

Stephanie Miller-Davis Library Training Travel Grant provides funding to send library staff to Transforming Library Services: Early Childhood Through Teens training.

• Up to forty-five $250 grant awards
• One grant will be awarded for $1000
• Applications due Monday, March 2, 2020 (Huron and Philip locations in 2020)
